Webb3 dec. 2024 · In 1985, the Soviet Union’s last leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, came to power ready to launch two sweeping policies of reform: perestroika and glasnost . Under perestroika, the Soviet Union would adopt a mixed communist-capitalist economic system similar to that of modern-day China.
