More than 700,000 cases of HCC are diagnosed, and approximately half a million people die of liver cancer every year [ 2, 3 ]. Many treatments are currently available for HCC, including surgical resection, liver transplantation, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy [ 4, 5 ].
